      We’ll be hitting the 19 Mile Brook Trail around 8 a.m. on Saturday and heading up to Wildcat A from the hut. Our plan is to then head back down the way we came _ and are likely to head over to the Wildcat Ski Area to pick up some hikers who plan to hit the entire ridge then head down the ski trail. :flag:

            I’ll probably be at the Mooseland afterward as well. I’m tentatively thinking of staying at Crag or Gray Knob the night before, which would leave me unable to attend pre-event festivities.

              Folks: FYI, I’m tentatively planning on doing a prezzie traverse this day, but I will definitely bag plans to adopt one of the two so-far unclaimed peaks (looks like South Carter and North Kinsman) if it remains so in the days leading up to 9/11.

              So far, an impressive lineup! :flag:

                  SilentCal — Okey doke. Since we won’t be sending out the releases until early/mid-July, let’s be sure to revisit that section of the press release. My thought is that if there is an “official” gathering spot the night before, it would give any interested media a chance to grab folks before the hike for interviews.

                  We reporter-types tend to be lazy folks and may not want to cart ourselves up the peaks themselves to do any interviews. And since it’s on a Sunday this year, there won’t necessarily be a huge gathering the night of the event.

                        I second/third/whatever the idea of grandfathering. At the risk of parrot-ing others, if someone has shown that much dedication or draw to a peak to hit it each of the past three years, I’d like to give them the first dibs on continuing to act as coordinator for that peak. :flag:

                            Depending on how early I can scadaddle on Friday, I’ll head up to the campground either Friday — or see everyone there Saturday afternoon/evening.

                            My itinerary:

                            SATURDAY: planning to do trail work on my trail (AirLine).
                            SUNDAY: Would love to get in on the Welch Dickey hike!

                            Will bring firewood and brewskis!

                              For anyone interested … my tentative plan is to head up Saturday and do some trail work on my trail (Air Line in the Northern Prezzies). Sunday, I’d love to hike Welch-Dickey. Time in between will be spent gabbin’, eatin’, drinkin’ and sleepin’ :beer:

                                The Cannon Balls are … hmmm, interesting. As (bad???) luck would have it, I climbed them totally by accident. I was thinking I was on the Fishin’ Jimmy Trail, and ended up hiking the Cannon Balls instead. Guess I needed to work on those map and compass skills! 😆
