7:00 Glen Ellis Trailhead is the start time.

The hike is nearly 12 miles with 5000 feet of elevation gain

Tim has a telescoping flagpole and Flag.

      All are welcome.

Sue, the hikers are leaving from the Kinsman Ridge lot around 9:00. My impression is they are a quick bunch. So you can start a little earlier and they can catch you. The trail is steep and at times rough and muddy.

I have seen a flag on Owls head from garfield and from Liberty. My guess is 12-15 feet if you use the trees to help you boost it should get it visible.

Hi, I’m also on Liberty. We have some slower hikers in my group and I believe we will stagger start everyone. One group will leave at 7:00. Another group leave at 7:30 and the rest will join Frodo’s group. If the weather is agreeable, I plan to also bring a flagpole and flag. I think there are a few spots on the south side of the summit I can use. My group has about 10 persons and nearly all have done the event with me before. I’m really looking forward to doing this.

              Clear skies and steady breezes!

PS. The Flume team will be leaving this same lot around 7:30 pm. So if you are tagging along, please make sure you are with the correct group!

                Hi Jake,

I am not on your team, rather I am with the Liberty team and I believe we will be using the same parking lot to gather. I am not sure what our start time is but I believe we have some slower hikers starting at 7:30 as well. Let’s hope for good weather!

Weather is good so we will have the four flags flying.

Hikers meet up time is 7:30 at the Kinsman Ridge trail. Boots on the trail at 8:00. Please be on time.

Tram Riders: a large group is headed up at 10:15. Reservations are not required but a good idea. I have a feeling with the nice weather they may sell out quickly.

Cookout is still good to go!

                      Hey guys,

I’m the mt. Cannon peak coordinator. If you guys are coming down the Greenleaf trail, we are going to be holding a cookout at the base of the Kinsman Ridge trail that you guys are more than welcome to attend. We will have Hamburg’s and hot dogs and all you need to bring is your beverages and a camp chair.

                      Jim

Is this the Wilbraham in Massachusetts? Just curious because I live close by.

Gram, I’ll be going on vacation following Flags. I have a dog now and there is just not enough room in my little car to bring them both. That flag literally took up the whole back seat. Look forward to see everyone.

                                Hi guys,

Would it be possible for you guys to check on West Bond for a flag? There is only one person going there. Does not need to be huge, But a small flag with a picture on West Bond is all we need.

                                Thanks
