Excellent job on this particular peak. I always say the folks that do the viewless peaks are MVP’sof the event. Thanks :flag:

I guess this kinda rules out bringing the 30 x 45 flag. With winds that high, it would turn into a parasail.

that protocol has been broken. It’s almost unavoidable. I treat the flag with as much respect as I can but high winds can sometimes make it really tough.

The trip leader has cancelled so can I rely on you two guys to get a flag to the summit?. Does not have to be a big flag and does not need to poke through the treetops. But a helicopter may fly by and take pictures so try to be a little visible if possible.

Thanks guys! This peak is always cause for concern due to the miles. :flag: :flag:

You’ll be happy to know that two of the steering committee members are adopters of the Wildcat Ridge Trail portion that you are taking. Let us know how it looks. :flag:

try doing that with a flag that is 30 by 45 feet. not easy.

Thanks Darwin for the pickup. We’ll get the names straightened out on the peak list at the next update. :flag:

Spartan has also posted on Facebook to try and reach his crew.

You may wish to update your start-time and particular trails you’ll be using. Perhaps the South Carter and Wildcat A groups may be starting around the same time and place.

                              Greetings,

Plans for the Flags on the 48 event are as follows:

I’ll be at the Gorge Brook Trailhead on Ravine Road by 8:00 am. I am hoping for toes on the trail by 8:30. Trail is 3.7 miles to the summit with and elevation gain of 2450 feet. There are several outlooks with views along the way. Total book time is listed as three hours and 5 minutes. We’ll be close to that as we will have heavier packs than usual. I do have a flag and pole. There is plenty of room at the summit for multiple displays so if you’d like to bring a flag assembly, that’s okay. Any questions just let me know.

                              Thanks

From a pole, I am uncertain.

You are going to need a few things should you choose to attempt this. A good crew for hauling up supplies and PVC. Lots of guyrope. and the most important thing: a sense of humor if you have a mishap. :flag:

Joe, how did you get 2012 to show up in your signature?? It seems a lot of people can’t do it.
