September 9, 2012 at 3:28 amPost count: 839The Washington summit had the state park flags flying, a small flag (we don’t know who set it up) off the summit sign, and for about 15-20 minutes the big 8×12′ flag was up, until the winds forced us to take it down. I read average sustained at 43mph on my handheld, and the Obs recorded a 71mph gust during that time.

We had the flag flying from 12 until about 2:30 from the viewpoint about 50 yards north of the summit.
Windy but weather was good. Rain started when we got back to the lot, maybe 4:30.
Posting pictures shortly.

I can confirm Middle Tripyramid, but I can’t confirm the blackhawk. We saw no sign of a helicopter this year. Of course, we were usually in a cloud and the sound of the flag in that wind would have drowned out any copter flyby.
