      Hank,

I will give you a call, honestly there isn’t that much equipment to bring up so I think we’ll be all set. But, there is going down that we can use some help. Have fun on Kinsman, did that on Tuesday, great hike!

Bandguy, I did send you a reply. If you can’t meet us at the trail head, would be great to meet you up there and you can help on the way down!

Looking forward to meeting you guys!

      John

Thank you for that update! I was starting to wonder considering the damage we have up here!

Maybe we could work something out where I could pick you up at the car drop, and then proceed to the starting point?

Let me know, plenty of time to work something out.

With others possibly joining I would like to keep the plans ‘simple’

The itinerary for the hike up Bond is the following. Meet at the Zealand Trail head at 6:30 on Sunday September 11th. Would like to start heading up by 7. We will follow Zealand Trail to the Zealand Hut. From there up Zealand Ridge to Twinway, and onto Bondcliff Trail to Mount Bond. About sixteen miles round trip.

I have the Flag, poles, ropes, pulleys, etc.

Looking forward to meeting you Jack rabbit slim, as well as the West Bond crew during our ascent!

Any questions feel free to ask

No price yet, we’re still working it out, and to see if there is enough interest. Sorry, there will be no discount on drinks. That much I do know!

Just to confirm, there will be a contigent heading over to Truant’s in Woodstock if anyone cares to join in.

I think that’s where we’ll go as well.

Hope it’s not too out of the way from your ride home. 😉 😉

It’s a risky ride but I’m going for it!

Well, I’ve told my crew that they can stop by my house for a bbq afterwards. This will include a few  and a fire. If others would like to stop by let me know.

Okay, for all those going up Mount Hale, we will meet at the base of the Hale Brook Trail. Zealand Road is open and you can drive to the base. Meeting time will be at 9AM, and we’ll start up at 9:30. I have a telescopic pole (21′ extended), rope, pulley, and the Flag. I’ll bring coffee as well. If anyone wants to bring lunch and other snacks for on the trail that would be greatly appreciated!
Anyone using a GPS for directions to the base of the trail the coordinates are: N 44* 04.890′
                            W 071* 41.169′

After the hike you’re invited to my house for a BBQ, and hopefully we’ll make it over to the KOA Campground in Woodstock. The campground is a mile or so from my house.

Any questions feel free to ask!

                            See you then!

We did North Peak last year, we brought five 5′ sections of PVC pipe, couplers and four 1″ diameter foot long dowels to be duct taped around each joined section. It will be 25′ high right? NOT enough reinforcement and the pole crashed down….. That didn’t happen at home! A sleeve would’ve been perfect, but we did get the flag just over the trees as you can see by the pictures.

Whole new plan this year for Owl’s Head
