For Washington we’ll hike the Jewell Trail from the Cog Rail Base Road. I’ll be at the trailhead lot at 7:30, planning to head out on the trail at 8:00. We’ll return via the same route, though those who wish can take the Cog rail down instead of hiking down.
I have 10′ of electrical conduit with 3′ steel rods for support at the coupling. We’ll fly a 4×6 US flag. Stephanie will bring a Marathon flag (3×5) as well. We’ll tether the flag to the observatory deck in view of the web cam and take shifts watching the flag/warming up inside.
