It was a privilege and honor to once again participate in the annual 9-11 Memorial hike. The cloudy skies (but no rain) did nothing to dampen the spirits of all the visitors we had on Mt Field. We stepped off the trailhead in Crawford Station right around 9:00 o’clock. Following the Avalon Trail, we made a quick stop at Mt Avalon and then continued to the Willey Range Trail and on to the summit. We had our flag up by 11:45 :flag: and then grabbed a quick bite to eat. We shortly had our first visitors to the summit and from then, until 2:00 PM, we had a continuous stream of hikers come through. Everyone was interested in the purpose of the hike and were very supportive to our efforts. Almost everyone took advantage of the offer of one of Boo’s homemade brownies. They were delicious. Thanks, Boo! Many also took a small flag to stick into their backpacks for the continuation of their hike. The time quickly passed and soon it was time to break down the flag setup for the hike down. Everything went smoothly and we soon found ourselves back at the trailhead already thinking about next year. Thanks everyone. 😀

Please check the Gallery for pictures from our day.
