      A note to whomever is doing Mt. Jefferson — Jefferson Notch Road is currently closed. There have been statements made that it may simply not reopen until next spring (it’s a road that always receives a lot of damage every year and requires repairs every spring anyway).

      So if you were planning on the Caps Ridge trail, keep an eye on
      http://www.fs.fed.us/r9/forests/white_mountain/conditions/roads_status.php

      and be prepared to take an alternate route.

      Some options:
      Jewell Trail (best chance of trail having been cleaned up)
      Castle Trail
      Boundary Line Trail to JNR road walk to Caps Ridge Trail (least chance of trail having been cleaned up)

        been checking to see what route the peak coor’d was going to choose – assumed Caps Ridge, this will make for a longer hike in/out.
