I have volunteered to carry a flag up Mount Garfield tomorrow and am
asking for help. I’m checking with some of my regular hiking buddies,
but this is new to me, so I can use all the help I can get! Thanks.

Please let me know if you’re interested. Thanks.

Not sure what kind of help you are asking but here goes. Mt. Garfield is a pretty straight-forward hike of 5 miles each way. The trail is fairly mellow and only gets steep in the last .2 miles after the junction with the Garfield Ridge trail. Upon approching the summit there are seven switchbacks to lessen the grade of the ascent. Ideas for flagpoles can be found under those topics on this site but many flag-bearers are using poles of PVC to fly their flag. Any other questions, please post and someone will try to assist you.
