      Curious if the organizers knew about the helicopter flying over and if they know if we will be able to see the photos somewhere. It was pretty cool seeing them come by and being so close.

        We did not know beforehand, however efforts are being made to get information on them. It was wicked cool!

            From our vantage point on Cannon, We saw the copter over South Kinsman. Then it buzzed around North Kinsman and then vectored around us twice. It then headed on a beeline to Mt. Liberty and Mt Flume. It ducked behind the Franconia Range and a couple minutes later we saw it by Mt. Garfield.

            It was a complete surprise and a most pleasant one at that!

                And thanks to whoever was responsible for the helicopter. It was a real highlight of our day on Cannon.

                  Thanks for sharing the pics, and thanks to you and your unit for the flyby, it was quite an emotional sight to many, if not all, of us. A really special touch on a special day. :flag:

                        No, thank YOU! Not just for the service you guys give to this country, but for providing what was a great capper to this years event. In years past it was the Air Force jet jocks getting the glory by showing off. 😀 It was quite a surprise to see you out there instead! I bet it made you feel better to be flying around out there for “fun” rather than the usual sad business of SAR. :flag:
