Hi all,

I’m Will, the peak coordinator for Mt. Garfield. My plan is to meet in the parking lot off of Gale River Loop Rd at the Garfield Trail trailhead. I plan to get there around 6:30AM and start hiking by 7:00AM. It has been a while since I’ve hiked it but book time is right at 4 hours, which will put us at the summit of Garfield by 11:00AM. This will give us about an hour to set up the pole and raise the flag by noon. If you plan on starting before or after us please let me know so we aren’t waiting.

The summit is exposed so make sure to pack proper clothing.

I have a pole that we used on Mt. Zealand a couple years ago and a flag. We can divide up the pieces at the trailhead. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Hello,

How many do we have committed? My girlfriend, also an avid 48 hiker, would like to hike up with us.

Hey Mike,

That’s totally fine! We have 11 but a few people will be starting before the main group so we can still stay below the 10 person group limit while hiking.
