After a little confusion on my part pre-trip about start times due to the road being closed to the Ravine Lodge. 7 of us started our trip up Moose via Gorge Brook trail. We made it up at 11:00am. we all stopped and ate our lunch and then took to getting the Flag raised. It took me a little time to get the guy lines tied to the rocks because it’s important to make sure the knots will work! Together we had it flying by Noon. What a beautiful day. The summit was filled with many hikers enjoying the day and seeing the flag raised at the summit. This is the second time I’ve gone into doing this without knowing anyone on the team. I left feeling like I’ve known them for years. It’s what this event is about. Showing that we can come together and do great things. I enlisted the help of Lexi and her friends to help get lower the flagpole and as a group it came down safely and with no issues. Thanks to Don for carrying the flagpole up and down the mountain!
