48 out of 48. CONFIRMED. A tip of the cap to everyone involved. Every year since 2004, All 48 peaks had coverage and confirmation. That is 12 years in a row.
I remember the first meeting when the event was in it’s planning stages. Hancock Campground is where the framework of the event came together in June of 2002. Our goal was complete coverage just once. We only covered 39 peaks that first year and had sign ups open all summer. In 2003, we moved up to 42 and had sign ups open most of the summer. Fast forward to this year. We open sign ups and we are filled 3/4 full within five minutes and completely full within a day or too. Times change but the Remembrance stays the same. Thanks to everyone that has made it happen over the years.
