In the first 24 hours that registrations have been active, we’ve recieved 22 registrations.

And we haven’t even advertised this off-site yet! WOW! 😮

I’d better bring those high-powered binoculars up Garfield!
              😀

Maybe we could incorperate my suggestions for Owl’s Head from the meeting. We could have the Hooters girls circling the Pemi in a hanglider with a flag attached to the tail. But the idea of sending the girls to that summit with helium canisters scares me…… :flag:

                  The scouts are back!!!!!
And they are taking two peaks!!!!

Lots of familar names getting onboard. I guess once you do this event and get the feedback from fellow hikers, your just hooked!

Yes, the Scouts from Dracut are back! We noticed that there wasn’t much response for the Tripyramids last year so we figured we’d grab them. We usually camp at Osceola Vista for the weekend so this will work out great!

                    See you all out there!!

The list is really filling in.

I also e-mailed the outing club at my Alma Mater (WPI) to see if they were interested and directed them to this site for sign-ups and more information.

Only 4 more, sans the “reserved” peaks?

I can’t believe we’ve done this well so early in the planning stages. As for the reserved peaks, has anyone inquired or are they still open?

I’m wondering if the “Reserved” status should be grayed-out or put in a different font color altogether so that your eyes don’t automatically skip over them when browsing the list (which I find myself doing every time I look at it).

                          Just some random thoughts…..

I totally agree. I do the same thing. Perhaps link “Reserved” to the Q&A or forum, or special sign-up form.

I’m amazed at how well the sign up is going. Y’all have done an incredible job.

I may end up signing up for a reserved peak if its available later on. At this point, I am hoping to be in shape to reach a peak under my own steam, but don’t want to sign up for one when I’m not sure I’ll make it. It is however real motivation for me to work hard on my rehab. If all the peaks are taken when I make up my mind, I’ll be happy to join someone else – or maybe take up slack if there is a last minute cancellation.

BTW: I think it would help for people to agree to post cancellations, even last minuite ones, so that someone else can take it. Maybe some groups who are doing a peak would be willing to split up in order to pick up slack in the event of cancellation.

This last minute cancelation scenario could be a real pain to deal with. How do we co-ordinate to get that particular peak flagged? Would a friday nite september 10th mini gathering be an idea? Just a thought….

Maybe we really do need to try and get some “on call” people together on Friday night.

One big question – who is the central arbiter of last-minute cancellations? Someone going to be watching the web site right up until starting time?

BTW – to avoid one possible last-minute failure, let’s make sure “dirt_girl” knows that Zealand Road is scheduled to be closed.
