        I’ll do a little refereeing. I realize some people have already dropped off the list for Isolation, and that’s too bad because I think offense was taken a little too easily on this one. It’s probably too late, but I’d like to encourage people to focus on the event and not so much on the “territory” of the peak.

          Hi Tom,

          I have recruited a couple more people to join the crew, but they’re not signed up. I’m bringing my daughter with me for her first 4,000 footer so if we don’t make it to the trailhead please don’t wait for us. I’m hoping we can meet you there though. Looking forward to NOT being the PC for once! 🙂

            @HollyG,

            No, each person will need to register and sign themselves up. We discourage people “hijacking” a peak by signing up for all 10 spots when they aren’t sure who will be participating. We’d prefer to only have actual commitments, so we don’t see peaks full (which discourages other hikers) when only a couple people will actually be there.

              Yup, we’re working on all of that Joe. The signatures require a plugin, I have to research emojis, and the gallery is in the process of being rebuilt. I needed to get the site up for registration, so these were sacrifices I needed to make to get that done. It will improve over time.

                Yeah, that’s one of the concessions we had to make to integrate everything. We’re now using WordPress, and bbPress which get their avatars from Gravatar. I’ll look into the situation more as time allows, I’m trying to make the change as painless as possible.

                  The migration is complete! There are likely to be lingering issues with a few things, and we haven’t quite figured out the Gallery yet, but rest assured we will get there! We will be all set for sign ups on the 7th

                    Thanks Scooter, I completely agree! We’ve never had 100% participation in the Gallery, and I hope we can turn that around.

                      Since he’s 13 he is old enough (according to COPPA) to register for the site, so if that’s ok with you he can register on his own. If not, then we can figure something out.

                        Sounds like you have an amazing program there! Let’s talk about what it means to promote this on your page, we’d just like to be careful about how the event is portrayed. Please feel free to PM me and we can connect on this point.

                        As far as bringing 50 people, that would be amazing! Please be aware that Leave No Trace encourages groups to be 10 or fewer in order to limit impact, but that doesn’t mean you can’t break your group into 5 smaller groups to make that work. When we connect we can talk about how best to register all your participants (or some subset).

                            That is correct. But even once we move to the new site, you can register before sign-ups open.

                              If you have a n account here on the forum, it will transfer over to the new site and you won’t have to register again. You’ll just login, go to the sign ups page and click on a “register” button next to the peak you want.
